More than 140 young people came together for a fantastic day of fun, friendship and adventure as North Leeds Scouts celebrated a trio of landmark birthdays for its younger sections.
The event marked the 5th birthday of Squirrel Scouts, the 40th birthday of Beaver Scouts and the 110th birthday of Cub Scouts, bringing together young people from across the district for a memorable celebration at Wike.
Throughout the day, young people enjoyed a wide range of activities, including decorating birthday cakes, learning fire-lighting skills, making delicious s’mores, taking part in party games and gathering around a campfire for a traditional campfire sing-along.
The celebrations were made even more special with visits from the Central Yorkshire County Lead Volunteer and the Wetherby District Lead Volunteer, who joined in the festivities and helped recognise the incredible achievements of Scouting’s younger sections.
The event showcased the spirit of Scouting, giving young people the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and create lasting memories, all while celebrating over a century of adventure and community involvement.
A huge thank you goes to all of the volunteers, leaders, young leaders and supporters who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the day such a success. Events like these simply would not be possible without their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to providing amazing experiences for young people.
“Seeing over 140 young people enjoying themselves, building confidence, learning new skills and celebrating together was a wonderful reminder of what Scouting is all about. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day happen.”
