There are two fire making areas facilities that we try to keep as shared with all visitors. They are bookable but with shorter time periods to encourage sharing. We find that most groups are happy to be flexible and open to negotiation.

The main fire pit has a large seating area and space for a reasonably large fire. As mentioned, it is intended as a communal resource. There are alter fires which can be used on the camping fields for groups who wish to cook on open fires.

In addition there is an area known as the fire shelf which is sited alongside the Top Field. This is the only area on the upper level of the site where ground fires of all types are permitted.
The small stream that runs along the edge of the bottom field is often used for dam building and wildlife spotting.

Other Shared Areas and Facilities
There is a new toilet block on site with six toilets and 3 showers. These are for the use of all visitors.

Car Parking. The site has extended the car park and can fit approximately 30 vehicles, which is useful for drop off and collection. We would ask visitors to try to co-ordinate drop off / collection times so that the car park does not get overloaded. Visitors are responsible for the supervision of parking for their group.

Finally, the site has ropes and pioneering materials that can be made available upon request of the warden.
